Netherlands Demolishes Iran in Olympic Water Polo Clash

ROME The deaf national Iranian water polo lost in its first fight to the Netherlands.

During the clash held here on Tuesday, the Dutch players scored 22 times to trounce the Iranian side.

Contrary to the expectation, the water polo team of Iran had a very poor performance and did not score even one goal.

During its stay, the Iranian team could not exercise in any pool of Italy and fought against the Holland side unpreparedly.

Gholamreza Firouz-Kamrani coaching the national water polo of Iran told IRNA, "Loss or win is a natural issue in every contest but I should confess that the Dutch team was too strong."

In the training sessions, Iran played no worthy friendly, said the coach adding that we know nothing about our rivals and this is the reason for our loss.

The deaf water polo players of Iran are to clash with Hungary, which beat the U.S. 12-2 on July 24.
